CYCA's vision is a world where every child has a safe, loving home, where they are given every opportunity to thrive and reach their potential through living healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.
CYCA's mission is to provide excellent support services for children, young people and families across Carmarthenshire and beyond in the fields of emotional health and wellbeing, training, play, education, and physical health.
Llanelli & District Shopmobility
Shopmobility is a service that helps all people who consider themselves to have mobility problems (whether through disability, illness or injury) to continue to get around Llanelli Town Centre independently, with freedom, confidence and dignity.
Everyday activities such as shopping or travelling can often present difficult challenges for those with mobility issues; sometimes because of a lack of facilities, sometimes because of attitudes and lack of understanding of others. Shopmobility enables people with mobility problems to conduct themselves around town in their own time and use all kinds of services without having to rely on friends or family.
Anyone who considers themselves to have problems with mobility due to injury or disability, whether short or long term, can use Shopmobility to access shops and other services in the town centre.
Friends of Llanelli Train Station
The Friends of Llanelli Train Station is a volunteer group started to help improve the train station for the benefit of Llanelli. Last year, the group gained planning permission to renovate a derelict plot of land at the train station to provide a new public area. This will include planters, seating and a heritage board.
The group has been working with Keep Wales Tidy, Network Rail, Arriva Trains Cymru and The Heart of Wales line in order to bring these proposals to fruition. Once the current scheme has been developed, the group has plans for further developments at the train station to improve the area and provide a improved gateway to our town for those arriving by train.
