2018: Building Regs Changes

The old adage applied to business, is certainly the case for Building Regulations and there are many changes on the way according to Welsh Government Circulars.
Excepted Energy Buildings
As of 1st April 2018 the term 'excepted energy buildings' disappears from the regulations and now ministers can make building regulations in relation to buildings such as electricity generating stations, underground gas storage buildings, underground pipe lines etc

The Building (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2018
This is the main change coming this year and covers a few different areas. Amendments are coming to Approved Document G (Sanitation, Hot Water Safety and Water Efficiency) and a New Requirement Approved Document Part Q (Security).
These changes will take effect from 1st November 2018.
